3.     Backstory:
a.     Chirp is a year old baby bird that is determined to be the first bird to fly into outer space. He came to love space when he was 6 months old and decided to stay up a little longer one night to see what was nice. (Since his mom made bedtime at sunset.) When he looked at the stars he was stunned at how beautiful the night sky was, and was fascinated ever sense. He asked his mom in the morning and she told him what she knew of space. Even how she used to live by a space shuttle before he was born, and how amazing it was to see a spaceship take off. After everything she told him, he was determined to go into space and explore. His mom became very supportive and is willing to do what she can to help him achieve his dream. She was even ok with him putting stars under her butt so he can always see the stars. She found an old glass that would be a perfect helmet for him and gave it to him on his 1st birthday. He wears that helmet everyday, and wears it as proud spacebird. Every morning he practices how to fly and pretends he is maneuvering an asteroid field, or fighting aliens. He calls this his daily “space explorations,” and always dreams of different scenarios everyday. Even though he knows he has all the time in the world to go to space, he is eager to prove all the non-believers wrong, and to make his momma proud and bring her a space diamond.

-Short Narrative: Locked out of home-

One day, Chirp was doing his daily “space exploration,” but an asteroid collided with him, which made him fall into an alien jungle. He cried out to the mother ship but no response. He thought he should explore a little before the mother ship returns. This reminded him of another time he crash-landed into an alien jungle. He even thought he could find a way to get back home. He knew his ship was low on energy, so he ventured for fuel. He came across a huge alien fruit, which reminded him of a strawberry. He ate some of the new fruit and got the fuel he needed for his spacecraft. He soon saw a sparkling rock and thought he finally found the space diamond he was looking for. When he got close to it, he was disappointed it was a space pearl. Chirp held onto it, so maybe his mom will still love him. He went back to the wreckage and called out for the mother ship. He grew very tired and took a little nap. He soon heard his mother ship calling, and he immediately replied to her. Chirp soon saw the mother ship, so pink and beautiful as usual. She took him back home, and told him that she was so worried about him when she didn’t see him. She asked what happened, and he told her about his little adventure. He gave her the pearl and she smiled at him and thanked him. She told him that she came back with some new alien cuisine for dinner, and he should get ready to eat. He took off his helmet, and ate some “alien worms.” He grew very tired, and cuddled with his mom and drifted to dream land.

  1. I love the narrative you wrote, and the way you interpreted it through Chirp's perspective! It really helps the audience understand how vast his imagination is! I'm excited to see how you carry that sense of imagination over into the animation! Chirp seems like a really interesting character: even though he's just a little bird, he's full of hopes and dreams, and that makes him very relatable.
